Security & privacy
How we protect your financial data, who can access it, and the controls we use to keep it safe.
Last updated June 2026
Your financial information is some of the most sensitive data you have. We treat it that way. This page explains, in plain English, how RCN CPAs protects your data and respects your privacy.
How we protect your data
We use bank-level encryption to protect your information both in transit and at rest. Access is controlled and monitored, and we follow security practices designed for handling financial and tax data.
- Bank-level encryption for data in transit and at rest
- Multi-factor authentication on the systems we use
- A secure client portal for documents and e-signatures, so you never email sensitive files
- Strict, role-based access so only your dedicated team can see your information
- Reputable, security-vetted platforms (Xero, QuickBooks, and our document portal)
Who can access your information
Only the members of your dedicated RCN team who need access to do your work can see your information. We do not give blanket access to your data, and we review access regularly.
We never sell or share your data
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. We only share information when you ask us to (for example, with a lender you have authorized) or when required by law.
Data retention and your rights
We retain records as long as needed to serve you and to meet professional and legal requirements, then dispose of them securely. You can request a copy of your records or ask questions about your data at any time.
Reporting a concern
If you ever have a security or privacy concern, contact us right away and we will respond promptly. We take every report seriously.
